Individual cycle maintenance tutorials
Take a full day or half day one-to-one cycle maintenance tutorial with Richard, a qualified teacher and Cytech 2 cycle mechanic.
- Grow your skills in basic cycle maintenance.
- Experience the pride of maintaining your own machine.
- Enjoy the exhilaration of a newly serviced and tuned bicycle after the session.
- Feel confident on your rides by knowing how your bike works and how to fix common problems.
Tutorials are conducted at a place to suit you, typically your own home. Travel outside the Lancaster / Morecambe area will be charged at cost. Tools and workstand are provided. You provide a bike that needs routine servicing (not major repair!).
Check with us whether the work your bike needs will make a good basis for your tutorial. Routine maintenance is the focus. Quite likely, you'll end your session with a fully tuned bike. However if your cycle hasn't received much attention for a while it might not be possible within your tutorial to complete everything that needs doing. We'll try to get a feel for this and agree priorities with you when you book.
Half day (3 hrs + 30 mins break): £90 + cost of any replacement parts
Full day (6 hrs + 1.5 hrs breaks): £160 + cost of any replacement parts
Please contact us to discuss your requirements or to make a booking.
Of course half and whole days of individual tuition aren't the cheapest option - though we're certain you'll be delighted and find your session an excellent investment. But you may prefer a more affordable way to achieve your cycling independence. Highly recommended options provided by our friends at Freewheelers Bicycle Workshop in Lancaster include:
Regular courses, in a small group setting, including ones for women only.
A Tool Club if you already have some cycle maintenance skills
Individual maintenance tutorials are also available from Freewheelers. There's room for both businesses to provide this style of learning. So if you're looking for individual tuition, contact us or Freewheelers to find out which will suit you best.
If you do go to Freewheelers Bicycle Workshop please say we recommended them. We share an equal passion for cycling. So it's really important for us to know that our combined efforts are promoting today's smart personal transport option.
